Internships
AN IMPORTANT PERIOD OF APPLICATION OF THE COMPETENCES ACQUISED
Goals
What are the internship objectives at ISBA TP?
The internship is the final point of the learning period. It allows an objective final assessment of the skills acquired by each student. It must necessarily take place in the BTP sector. It can have several aspects:
- Design (project management offices): The intern must choose the calculation methods, do the modeling and appreciate and comment on the results. It must grasp a given project globally. He can take part in the drafting of written contractual documents in connection with the structure he will have dimensioned. Beyond the pure assignments of structural design calculations, the intern can also participate in a DET assignment, without this taking up all of his time.
- Construction site (Directorate of Works): The intern is faced with issues of organization, layout, coordination, and construction site management. The internship focuses mainly on large-scale assignments. Its missions also include technical, legal and financial management.
- Expertise (laboratories and technical design offices): The intern is confronted with technical and methodological issues related to expert operations. He must be able to carry out all the verification calculations of an existing structure and propose adequate repair solutions.
- Controls (control offices).

How does the internship search period work?
Internships start in June. Preparation for internship research is the subject of particular attention on the part of the school. Indeed, more than 50% of internships lead to a CDI/CDD, the internship can quickly turn into a trial period before employment. It is important that the student can:
- Target the companies that best meet your professional aspirations,
- Propose a CV and cover letter adapted to the needs of the target company,
- Conduct a job interview.
The school becomes a force for advice on these various points, thanks in particular to:
- When checking CVs and cover letters before sending them to companies,
- At various interviews allowing the student to have a clear professional project adapted to the needs of companies,
- To the setting up of mini maintenance simulation workshops.
